Rodney Ho, via, Radio-Info.com, posted an excerpt of an email from dave fm program director Michelle Engel to the dave staff.  Here's a portion:

As we stated in the Winter 05 memo, Arbitron is a beast. Although we were kissed in the Winter, she turned around and bit us in the butt this time around ... Just to make the pill easier to swallow, I will outline the highlights in programming that might make you smile…or just make the tears fall a little less heavily.

Baron Incorrectly Labels Rehnquist a Moderate

The 6:40 am newspile lead with a story on the nomination of GOP apparatchik John Roberts to the U.S. Supreme Court.  In discussing the story Jimmy Baron stated the following:

[Rehnquist is] more on the left...he's not going to step down because he knows he'll be replaced by some super-right wing guy and he doesn't want to see the supreme court go that way.

Later, when a listener called to correct him, Baron restated his opinion saying "He's at the very least a moderate."

In a New York Times analysis of voting relationships, it was shown that in non-unanimous cases, Rehnquist agreed with conservative Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas 68% and 66% of the time, respectively, while agreeing with Clinton appointed justices Steven Breyer and Ruth Bader Ginsburg 43% of the time.  Rehnquist only agreed with the most "liberal" justice John Paul Stevens only 25% of the time.

Welcome Back Toucher

Well, the bad news is that if this trend continues then I'll have to find another hobby. 

In the Wednesday newspile (around 7:50 AM), TL&J broke their long standing silence on the Traitorous Karl Rove.  The subject quickly turned to Bush's credibility:

Toucher:  Whatever people say now, no one's held to it.  We get all excited about triviality and then when it comes down to something important it all comes down to who yells the loudest...The whole weapons of mass destruction thing...no one had anything, the intelligence--no one paid any price for that, the whole reasoning for being in Iraq...when ever anything comes out like [the Downing Street memo]...no one has to answer any questions.

Jimmy:  That's the biggest problem the people have had, is there's no acountability.

Toucher: No!

Jimmy:  There's been no accountability.  No heads are rolling.  In fact, not only no accountability, the president lied to us and what do we do?  We loved it.  We reelected him.

Perhaps this is a sign that Toucher feels he has nothing to lose.  Perhaps Randy Lane has been reading polls.  Or Perhaps he watched Tuesday's The Daily Show. 

Whatever the reason, Toucher, it's good to have you back.

Toucher Protects His Inheritance...Again

Once again, failing to disclose his ties to McDonalds, Fred Toucher turned a newspile item about Jared Fogle wannabe Merab Morgan into another opportunity to bash the film Super-Size me and its director Morgan Spurlock.  McDonalds is a frequent 99X sponsor.

Toucher: "Reagan is the obvious choice for the greatest American ever."

On FredToucher.com and subsequently on a newspile Toucher discussed the Discovery Channel's Greatest American Poll.  Ignoring Reagan's shameful legacy, Toucher writes:  "Reagan is the obvious choice for the greatest American ever. After all he was almost[sic] shot once. Have you ever been shot at? The[sic] don't talk shit motherfucker." 

Online polls are not an accurate indicator of public opinion.   Moreover, this poll was manipulated by right wing website FreeRepublic.com.  FreeRepublic.com is notorious for manipulating online polls.

Freedom of Choice 1000 Deconstructed

The AJC's Rodney Ho has an interesting analysis of the July 4th weekend's Freedom of Choice 1000.  While I take exception to his characterization of Cake as "goofy,"  (I prefer "ironic")  Ho does a great job of capturing the flavor of the list.

Farewell Sebastian (Welcome Back Sebastian)

Today was intern Sebastian Daskawicz-Davis' last day.  It was Sebastian's street audio from the Bush Inauguration that inspired me to start this site.  Sebastian, like many of his generation, imagines that his conservative politics and political incorrectness make him like Tucker Max.  In reality they make him more like Ben Shapiro.  Still, on ocassion, Sebastian has been able to transcend the StutteringJohnTomGreenJackAss genre with some truly funny bits. I wish him best of luck.
