Crash fired?

New Cast List from 99X.com

There's speculation on both Radio-Info and FredToucher.com that Crash Clark may have been fired.  He has been removed from the 99X and Q100 websites.  Fred refers to the Q100 morning show text messagine "people 'bummer' when they have been fired."

Here's Crash's description (910.5K 3:53) of the event that may have lead to this.

Toucher Ridicules Aid Workers Held Hostage

In the 6:00 hour news pile Toucher ridiculed the four aid workers held hostage in Iraq.  According to Reuters:

The four aid workers -- two Canadians, a Briton and an American -- were shown in the tape broadcast by Al Jazeera television three days after they were snatched in west Baghdad.

Referring to the hostages, Toucher said:

"Even the Islamic people hate hippies...They don't like you.  You're white!  I've got news for ya.  These freakin Arab people don't like white people.  These terrorists don't care that you've got long hair, a beard and you look like Jesus, and you don't want anyone killing anyone, and that you really hate our government.  They don't care!"

Worse to Fat Kid?

This Wednesday's 6:13 News Pile contained a story on the discovery of 173 malnourished, apparently tortured prisoners in Iraq.  The story began with Leslie describing the situation, which then segued into Jimmy's reading the list of approved and unapproved interrogation techniques listed in  a Newsweek article on the Bush administration's interpretation of the rules regarding torture.  For each technique Jimmy mentioned, Toucher did his sleepy Omar Sherif voice protesting the torture.

Sometimes there is so much wrong with a given bit that it's difficult to summarize all that's wrong with it, so I encourage you listen to it (869KB MP3, 3:41) with attention to the following:

• Jimmy fails to provide the context of the "unapproved" interrogation methods included in the Newsweek article:

In December 2002, Rumsfeld tentatively approved 16 interrogation techniques for use with "uncooperative" detainees. In April 2003, he rejected much of the December list but noted that if officials wanted to use unapproved methods, they could ask his permission.

• Jimmy fails to note that the Abu Ghraib abuses, which happened under Rumsfeld's watch,  occurred despite the April 2003 interrogation policy.
• Leslie's jokes "We've done worse in this room to Fat Kid" and "Sometimes [torture] works in the movies."
• Wally's take on torture: "anything we do is still not as bad as those animals."
• The conflation of the discovery of the 173 abused prisoners and the Newsweek article with Jimmy's statement that "Who cares what we do to these heads of Al Quaeda that we get."

Toucher and Pat Robertson Agree on Feminism

Leslie:  Here's something else [Pat Robertson] said in 2003, he said that feminism organization "encourages women to [leave their husbands,] kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians."   
Toucher:  I don't like feminists either.

According to the Wikipedia, "As a social movement, feminism largely focuses on limiting or eradicating gender inequality and promoting women's rights, interests, and issues in society."

Apparently Robertson and Toucher agree to disagree on God destroying towns for refusing to teach intelligent design.
