It's amazing that liberals run and work in CNN, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, ABC, 99% of the newspapers, 99% of colleges, the music industry, and Hollywood.  We have Fox News and talk radio--that's it!  Two outlets that drive you people crazy--GOOD! 

Your side destroys this country a little bit each day--just look at the last 20 years of ridiculous liberalism that is shoved in our face on a daily basis.  I can't even watch "America's Funniest Videos" without the host taking a pot-shot at Ann Coulter (why not Hillary?).

Crash Hospitalized

Well this morning, apparently, Crash called while I'm at the RMV which was exciting and gave me a call and said that he woke up this morning at seven, his heart was racing. He thought he was having another panic attack.  He tried to calm himself down.  He took his blood pressure medication and it didn't work.  His wife took him to the hospital.  And sure enough, he went to the hospital and he actual has a problem with his heart.

Later, thanks to a medical student and an E.R. doctor who called in, we learn that Crash has atrial fibrillation.   From WebMd:

Atrial fibrillation (AF or Afib) is the most common type of irregular heartbeat. It is found in about 2.2 million Americans. If you have AF, the impulse does not travel in an orderly fashion through the atria. Instead, many impulses begin simultaneously and spread through the atria and compete for a chance to travel through the AV node.

The firing of these impulses results in a very rapid and disorganized heartbeat. The rate of impulses through the atria can range from 300 to 600 beats per minute. Luckily, the AV node limits the number of impulses it allows to travel to the ventricles. As a result, the pulse rate is often less than 150 beats per minute, but this is often fast enough to cause symptoms. The AV node limits the number of impulses that travel to the ventricles.

According to Fred, Crash was expected to be released yesterday.

Crash responded to my email with the following note:

I was actually in the middle of a stress test when my heart converted back to sinus, (normal) rhythm. The cardiologist was quite surprised it happened that way but excited none the less. All is well, gotta quit the coffee and take some extra medicine for maintenance. It was more scary then anything else but I'll live.

Crash Clark: The Book

I received the following press release from Crash:

Despite a bizarre childhood, a career path that included more turns than a NASCAR event and a faulty education, I've grown tired of hearing so many people telling me to put my life in print.

So, with the aid of a really cheap publisher and spell check I, Crash Clark am going to attempt to ignite every brain cell I've laid to waste and recapture the events of 18 years of radio insanity.

From the very beginning in 1989 at Power 99, all the way through traffic reporting, sports, morning shows, overnight shifts, those ever popular appearances and just plain hanging out in Georgia, it's going down on paper.

Here's where you, the listener, come in. With so many memories, some good, some bad, some just downright wrong and a few worthy of jail time, I'm asking you to share your stories. There's a good chance we met at an appearance, a concert, in an alley way in Buckhead, at a charity golf tournament, or the unemployment line. I want you to share any and all stories to be included in the book. It's sort of a tell all, sort of, created from all the things that have happened in those 18 years and all the things I've forgotten.

If you have a story, no matter how big or small, write it down and e-mail crashclarkstories@yahoo.com and I'll certainly add my twist and give you credit, unless you wish to remain nameless to protect your family.

It's been a hell of a road and this seems so much more fun than just writing up a will. So Atlanta, here we go, give me while, I'll keep you posted and start e-mailing me your tales of Crash encounters.

If we're lucky they'll make it into a movie and Kevin Smith can direct it. No, maybe Brian Singer will and I'll have all kinds of kick butt superpowers like the ability to hold a job.

Virginia, your little friends are wrong.  They have been affected by the skepticism of a skeptical age.  They have seen their favorite radio personalities shown the door, only to have them replaced by people doing the same material those personalities did in 1996.

Not believe the bit was real?  You might as well not believe that the Axel and Leslie show was an upgrade!  You might ask me what Jenners' real cell phone number is.  But even if the number given out on the air were not the same, what would that prove?  Perhaps Jenners gave the blog guy a fake cell phone number!

Yes, Virginia, the bit was real. It was as real as certainly as Barnes left 99X to pursue an acting career.  How dreary would the world be if radio bits weren't 100% true. It would be as dreary as if there were no Virginias.  There would be no theater of the mind then then to make tolerable our mornings.  We should have no enjoyment except to listen to stories about playing Halo or watching Lost.

The bit was staged!  Thank God, it was real!  10 years from now, when an intern hijacks 99X HD7, it will be just as true then as it was today.  And it will make glad the hearts of 18-34 year olds.

One fun thing about RSS becoming ubiquitous is that it's possible to follow a given Ebay seller's auctions with very little effort.  That's why I'm only slightly embarrassed to note that I came across the following funny listing from Mr. Baron:
