Fat Kid on 99X

I'm a Fat Kid fan.  In a day of disposable radio personalities who sound the same and affect the same on-air personality, FK stands out.  Jeremy "Fat Kid" Powell on 99X:

it is sad that 99x is gone, but i am glad that i got to be a part of a station that i was a big fan of for a very long time.

i got a call from MC Helium on friday.  he was telling me all about it. his theory is that 99x played everything alternative and got bored and that they ran out of alternative stuff to play.
i don't know if he is necessarily very far off....

I've written before, that I liked FK"s show.  He is original, funny, and a nice guy.  I suspect that there are 10,000 DJ's who sound pretty much like the person they will replace him with.  There is only one Fat Kid.

My wife and I spent the weekend in Chattanooga, and so I got the chance to check out the Fat Kid show.  While I only heard an hour or so, what I heard was great.  He's managed to riff off of the Fat Kid image and develop a quirky, warm, on-air personality.  I would stack FK up against the majority of the night time jocks in this market.
